Since a young age I have always had a devoted interest in art, and have been producing drawings and paintings since childhood. I was quick to realise the endless potential of digitally assisted artwork.

To this end, I undertook the Computer Animation degree course at the NCCA at Bournemouth University and this improved my repertoire more than I could have imagined, strengthening my traditional ability and teaching me the technical knowledge to fortify my skills.

Opportunities quickly arose during, and after, the completion of my degree. I spent the summer between my second and third academic year at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Soho studio contributing textures and artwork to the award-winning PS2 game “The Getaway”.

Following my graduation in 2001, I accepted an artist role at Lionhead Studios, working on internationally successful titles such as “Black & White Creature Isle”, “Black & White 2” and “Fable”.

In January 2005 I began working in Further Education at City College Coventry, delivering Multimedia units at ND and HND level. This was a valuable opportunity to involve myself in the media arts in a teaching capacity, something I had always considered would enrich my standing as an artist.

In September 2005 I was appointed as course leader for a brand new National Diploma in Games Development, a task which I felt more than ready and able to fulfill. In this role I organised and developed specialist units for the course, managed other professionals in the field and taught a wide spectrum of artistic disciplines, both digital and traditional.

With the games course well into its second cohort and running with full attendance, full retention and a shining reputation, I was keen to address new challenges and to return to the front line of games development.

In March 2007 I was granted this very opportunity by Blitz / Volatile Games Studios, being appointed Senior Concept Visualiser for their blockbuster title - “Dead to Rights : Retribution”.
I also worked in the company pitch team, creating promotional art and high-end visuals that contributed towards progressive business development. In addition to these responsibilities it was my charge to mentor and train other art staff to bring visual standards company – wide up to world class level.

In July 2011 I moved to Australia and after a year's holiday decided I would stay. Thus began my appointment at Lightmare Studios where my experiences as both an artist and an educator were equally brought to bear.
At Lightmare, I served as Art Director of the studio and Development Director of the sub studio Burning Heart Software as well as spearheading online training at Certificate 3 level and 1 year Diploma level. I have been a major contributor to 'Infinity Wars: Animated Trading Card Game' as well as providing all major art and animation assets for an upcoming mobile title.
Since my appointment I have trained hundreds of young Australians in digital art techniques, authored many hours worth of tutorials, learning content and training videos, managed and directed my own development team, improved and maintained visual standards across the company and mentored the art team to produce a united, consistent culture of quality and learning in the visual arts.
I have also undertaken a Certificate 4 in Training and Assessment to pave the road on my journey as an educator.

I am constantly striving to reach excellence as an artist and involve myself in traditional painting, life drawing, experimental methods, classical learning and new developments in visual technology. I pride myself on my accuracy, flexibility and professional candour and am always working toward that unreachable zenith of artistic achievement. If you want to, do not hesitate to contact me!
